It's about a month to go and I'm extremely excited! Although University should be consuming my life for the next two weeks I am finding time to get things done which is great!
I thought I'd post the sponsorship information online seeing as we require a couple of thousand more to cover costs.
There are two tiers of sponsorship for the event; Gold ($1000 or more) or Silver (less than $1000.) Both tiers receive the same benefits (Gold just gets a logo twice as big on the shirt and website, the opportunity to advertise on the day and of course greater goodwill from attendees.)
Benefits include:
Gold sponsors are also allowed to hang banners/posters at the event.
If you are interested in sponsoring then please email info at this domain to get in touch.
We currently have two confirmed sponsors; one Gold (Pitch) and one Silver (TXT Shopping Mall) who I would like to thank a lot for their contributions.
On the t-shirt front, I've invited everyone to submit their designs to info at this domain by the 18 June. From there we'll decide on which concept to follow and get it ready for printing.
Cheers,
Ludwig.

All my quotes are in. Food $2100. T-shirts $2600. Total cost; expected to be about $5000.
That is a lot of money; but you know we like to throw an excellent event, and we'll keep providing an excellent event. But I need your help; I started University this year which is really leaving me stretched for time. I no longer have hours available for me to be able to call and email around requesting sponsorship. So please, can you help? Ask around the office, ask the friend (or rival) companies. Help us make this event as great as before.
I also need someone to step forward to illustrate the t-shirt.Mata has graciously designed the shirt for the past two years; would someone give him a break? The shirt should encompass what's going on in the web right now; as well as be comical or have some sort of comment that will add interest.
I am working on getting the registration open so we can start taking names.
Remember to send all inquiries or comments to "info" at this domain. Until next time
Cheers,
Ludwig.
It's exciting times! Barcamp Auckland 3's date has been set which means for the third time ever, my dream is going to become reality. Now I say my dream because merely 2 years ago this was only a desire at the back of my mind that I thought wouldn't be realised but now, thanks to all of you, that dream has already been realised twice and since then, Barcamp has become less of my dream and more of our experience.
I have spoken with Mike Leach, Principal of Botany Downs Secondary College, who has once again pledged the school's support for the event which means we once again have access to the excellent facilities that the school has been graced with.
As of today, the date for Barcamp Auckland 3 has been set as Saturday the 11th of July however this date can change in the future (such as if I receive hundreds of emails complaining about the date.)
As I said, Barcamp Auckland is as much your baby as mine and since we all know that one of the great things about Barcamp is that it is free, I need your help.
I am really excited, and I hope you are too. Check back soon for more updates, and make sure to follow our BCA twitter account for notifications of progress updates and real-time preparation details.
1The regular caveat applies, if I don't get enough sponsors — t-shirts are the first expense to go. ↩
